RULES OF ENTERING THE INCA TRAIL.

  1. To enter the Inca Trail you must obtain a permit from the (Regional Directorate of Culture - Cusco). This authorization must be acquired through an agency Operator Authorized to Operate Red Camino Inca 2017.
  2. The number of people who can enter the Inca Trail is limited. It is therefore necessary to make reservations at least six months in advance, especially for high season from May 1 to October 30.
  3. To make a reservation we require your personal information: full name, nationality, passport number, age, copy of Student Card ISIC CARD updated in the year (Official Isic card 2017).
  4. When the tour commences at the entrance to the Inca Trail you must present your original passport with which you acquired the license. (or photo Original student (if applicable)) . If you made the original reservation and have subsequently changed  your passport with which he obtained the permit, then you must bring two passports - the old and the new.

WHAT TO BRING IN THE INCA TRAIL:

  • Original passport and copy (ISIC student card - green card if you are a student). You must carry your student card as it is mandatory display in the checkpoint of Machu Picchu or the Inca Trail.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.

  1. Extra porter: For added comfort you can count on the services of an extra porter, to carry your backpack. You must make an additional payment. The extra carrier can load up to 14 kilos, not walking with you. He waits in campgrounds with all his stuff so it is important to organize a small backpack to carry the essentials. We can also provide you with a big bag to help the carrier take your things.

  1. Water: We suggest you buy a bottle of water from 2 liters for the first day and use the same packaging for the whole trip. We provide boiled water for your bottle every morning. We suggest you bring purifying tablets, if you need more water you can take it from streams, waterfalls and take them with the pills.

4.-Baths along the way; On the way in the campsites there are basic toilets constructed by DIRCETUR, may be used by visitors.

  1. Garbage: There are enough trash cans along the way. Oour porters make sure our campgrounds are clean and are constantly working to keep the trail clean. We ask you to help us.
  2. Prohibitions It is prohibited to pick plants or collect orchids bring alcohol or other drugs, campfires, carrying poles with metal point.
  3. Showers on the way: There is only one Winayhuayna in the last campsite, you may wish to rent. It is offered as hot, but is rather lukewarm.
