LIMA CITY TOUR

Begin this tour visiting the Huaca Pucllana, administrative and ceremonial center of  Lima culture (100 - 600 AD) which has a truncated pyramid built with handmade adobitos placed with bookcase shape.
Tour the historic center of Lima, called since its foundation " The City of Kings" which was the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru, which included most of South America.  We visit: The Naval Heroes Walk, Plaza San Martin, Plaza Mayor, the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, Archbishop's Palace, City Hall and main streets with colonial mansions and Moorish balconies.

Visit the Convent of San Francisco, a jewel of colonial architecture that dates from 1546,  then we visit the main cloister decorated with Seville tiles of the seventeenth century, the Sacristy with paintings of Rivera and the Catacombs (underground crypts of the colonial era).

Once in the Church of San Pedro, we notice the greatest treasure of Baroque art that preserves retablos of the seventeenth and eighteenth century, and also has sculptures of renowned artists such as Gregorio Fernández, Juan Martinez Montanes, Pedro de Mena and others.

We continue in the Olivar de San Isidro to watch its olive trees that errands broguht from Spain (in late sixteenth century). We finish this tour in the new financial area of Lima.

SANCTUARY OF PACHACAMAC

At 31 kilometers south of Lima in Lurin Valley, we find the archaeological site of Pachacamac.

It was one of the most important ceremonial centers, considered along with Cuzco, the main place of worship in pre-Hispanic America. To this place came pilgrims from distant places to pay homage to the god Pachacamac, its name means "one who moves the world" known as the creator of the world and its creatures. The archaeological site includes palaces, plazas and temples carefully restored and has a museum that also has houses, an interesting collection of artifacts found at the site such as woodcarving of the God Pachacamac (oracle who watched the past, the present and the future, God of earthquakes).

In this Tour we’ll visit the set of Adobitos and Old Temple (where was the oracle of Pachacamac) of the Lima culture, the Pyramids with Ramps and painted temple of Ichmay civilization and the Temple of the Sun and the Acllawasi or House of the Chosen girls from the Inca culture.

Then we pass by the traditional village of Barranco, Ecological Reserve at the Pantanos de Villa and also touring the South Panamerican Highway which has a view of the Pacific Ocean.

LIMA MUSEUMS

In Latin America there are few museums that have complete collections of pre-Hispanic art, Lima is a privileged city because it has the most important museums with collections that cover 15,000 years of Peruvian history.

National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History of Peru, located in an old colonial house, built in 1818 by the Viceroy Joaquín de la Pezuela, for rest. In Here also lived the Liberator San Martin and Simon Bolivar did it later therefore known as the Quinta de los Libertadores.
